Increasing Daily Step Count Associated with Reduce Rates of Dementia

In a UK study spanning over 7 years with over 78,000 participants over the age of 60, researchers found that increasing daily step count and intensity of exercise was associated with reduced rates of dementia.

"The findings suggest that a dose of just under 10,000 steps per day may be optimally associated with a lower risk of dementia. Steps performed at higher intensity resulted in stronger associations.”

At Together we’re dedicated to helping our participants find ways to move more and improve their quality of life to maintain their independence.
