Hearing loss is among the identified medical conditions that we can treat and manage more effectively in order to reduce the risk of cognitive decline. With hearing aids now more accessible to everyday consumers, there’s potential for quicker intervention to optimize hearing health.

Healthy hearing has a significant impact on the brain, the information we retain, and the way we communicate and engage with others. When we hear properly, we are able to detect whole sentence structures, nuance, and tone - which helps us communicate more effectively with those around us and feel more connected and engaged. Our brains take this information and make bridges, called neural pathways, that enable us to access and recall what we heard more easily, therefore strengthening our memory centers.

Together Senior Health is excited to see increased access to hearing aids and we strongly continue to advocate for effective medical condition management in all our programs. We know that when one more person can truly feel listened to, heard, and understood, we are one step closer to better brain health for all.
